Team Dunedin complete one of the toughest one day challenges in the UK

By Dunedin,  July 20,2012

Buoyed by two recent successful exits, a team from Dunedin has just completed The Artemis Great Kindrochit Quadrathlon

Buoyed by two recent successful exits and a strongly performing portfolio, a 16 person team from Dunedin, the UK mid-market private equity house, has just completed one of the toughest one day physical challenges in the UK, The Artemis Great Kindrochit Quadrathlon up in the Scottish Highlands.

The Quadrathlon is an exhilarating test of stamina, strength and fitness, taking between 10 and 15 hours to complete. The Quadrathlon includes the following disciplines:

  • Swim - 1.35km across Loch Tay
  • Run/Hike - Seven Munros (>3000ft each)
  • (approx 24km and a total climb of 2465 metres)
  • Kayak - 11km along Loch Tay
  • Cycle - around Loch Tay 54km

Nicol Fraser a Partner at Dunedin who devised the team’s training programme said: “This was a herculean team effort with a number of challenges along the way. Some of the team completed the whole course and others formed a relay team covering each of the disciplines that make up the Quadrathlon.

“It is probably one of the toughest challenges we have faced, but the team all pulled together to ensure that, despite blisters and aching legs, we all went the distance.”

This year, The Artemis Charitable Foundation will distribute funds raised to Mercy Corps and Mary’s Meals.

Mercy Corps is an international charity that works in 41 countries around the world to alleviate suffering; oppression and poverty by helping people build secure and productive communities. Mary’s Meals sets up and runs school feeding projects in communities where poverty and hunger prevent children from gaining an education.
