What is your background?
I qualified as a chartered accountant with EY, working in the corporate finance and tax teams. I then moved to Ennismore Capital where I worked with the CEO across finance, acquisitions, development and operations.
Can you tell me what you think is special about Dunedin?
It may sound like a cliché but it is the people. Everyone is valued and talented but different. Actually, our chocolate biscuit selection is very good …
What is the best advice you have ever received?
Work hard and be kind to people.
What gets you out of bed at the weekend?
It’s different every weekend. I love trying new things and exploring whenever I can. This weekend I’m doing a butchery course and learning to kite surf. Consistent weekend ingredients are friends, sports and wine.
Describe a societal challenge you have been inspired to support?
I volunteered as a Police Officer in London Metropolitan Police in order to learn about the criminal justice system and contribute to society. It was challenging fitting it around my accountancy qualification but also incredibly enlightening. I also spent a few Friday night shifts trying to hide from friends who were enjoying a drink (or two) in Soho.
