Katie joined Dunedin in 2015. She is part of Dunedin's investment team which sources and transacts deals across the UK. She was involved in the buyouts of Incremental and FRA and the exit of CET.
What is your background?
After graduating, I joined the PwC Corporate Finance team where I gained experience in M&A advisory, working on transactions and targeting initiatives across a number of sectors, particularly Business Services and TMT.
Can you tell me what you think is special about Dunedin?
The people! As cliché as it sounds, I feel very fortunate to be part of a team which supports each other and has strong values. This influences the way we approach deals and build relationships, as well as making the office an enjoyable place to work.
What excites you about working with a management team?
A partnership with a management team is most exciting when there is a shared trust and desire to help the business and its people achieve their potential. It is also very important to enjoy the journey together which is only possible when there is a strong relationship with the team.
What is the best advice you have ever received?
Say yes more. Too often we say no to trying new things, going to new places or taking ourselves out of our comfort zone. But it’s by saying yes to these opportunities that we learn new things, meet new people and ultimately make the most of what life has to offer.
What gets you out of bed at the weekend?
Weekends are for getting fresh air, enjoying good food and catching up with friends and family, as well as exploring new places and being active. I am also trying to improve my French, Mandarin and Norwegian language skills which can be a challenge to fit in!
