What is your background?
I graduated with an MA (Hons) in Economics and Finance from Heriot-Watt University. After graduating I worked as an intern at Voyager Solutions where I undertook data analysis projects for clients.
Can you tell me what you think is special about Dunedin?
The people and culture. There is a great team mentality at Dunedin, one that I have only previously experienced on a rugby pitch. When hard work, genuine enjoyment and passion come together, special things tend to follow. All of which are evident at Dunedin.
What is the best advice you have ever received?
More of a lesson learned from past experiences, but it would be to embrace change. Be prepared for new challenges and experiences as you never know what is coming next. Plus, it makes things a bit more exciting and nothing great was ever created by staying the same
Who or what inspires you?
One thing that resonated with me was when Matthew McConaughey said that his hero was himself in ten years. I like the idea of having a hero to chase and compete with, especially one that gets better every time I improve in the present.
What gets you out of bed at the weekend?
Always enjoy getting outside and being active, whether that be rugby, golf or a run.
