We gave FRA
hands-on operational assistance during a period of fast expansion. In particular, we helped with recruitment, filling some of the company’s most senior positions, including a new US-based CFO, and a Chairman who is guiding the management team in developing the infrastructure to support rapid growth.
Working with Alpha
, we sourced candidates for the Financial Director position, and found one with the experience to take the business through the next stage of growth. Also, when Alpha was looking to set up an office in Singapore, we brought in one of our portfolio companies with specific expertise in the region. We subsequently floated Alpha on the AIM market.
When the 2015 Boxing Day storms put all of Steeper’s
manufacturing facilities under 5-7 feet of water, we worked closely with the business to solve the myriad of issues and speed up the move to new premises. As well as providing direct support, we brought together a team of specialists to get the business back on its feet as quickly as possible.
Having completed the initial Hawksford
transaction, we seconded an executive to help carry out a 100-day plan and make operational improvements – especially in collecting money due and managing cash flow. Our involvement also covered Hawksford’s IT infrastructure, rebranding the business, management coaching and HR.
