By Dunedin,  May 21, 2018

Simon Rowan has been included in the “2018 Private Equity Rising Stars” list compiled by Financial News and Private Equity News

Simon Rowan, Partner at Dunedin, has been included in the “2018 Private Equity Rising Stars” list compiled by Financial News and Private Equity News. This follows a period of high transactional activity for Dunedin who recently completed three exits in quick succession with the sales of Blackrock, Alpha and Kee Safety which saw it return £230 million to investors within 3 months.

Simon Rowan joined Dunedin in 2008 and is responsible for transacting deals across the UK. He was involved in the buyouts of Blackrock PM, Kee Safety, Premier Hytemp, Red and Weldex. Simon led the strong exit of Blackrock in 2017 for £161.5 million.

Shaun Middleton, managing partner of Dunedin said “This is a great achievement and we are really proud to have one of our team recognised on this list. Simon is a highly valued member of the team here and he has been instrumental in a number of our most recent investments and exits. At Dunedin, we are committed to cultivating talent and there is a strong team culture at the heart of everything we do.”

Candidates for "Private Equity Rising Stars" are assessed by Financial News and Private Equity News' editorial panel on four criteria: achievements to date given their age (including career progression, expertise, performance and successes, particularly in the past 12-18 months), the stature of their mentors, firepower at their disposal and their potential to reach a position of great influence. They must be under the age of 40 and work in EMEA. The full list is available at In 2017, the list was reduced to only 25 young executives (rather than 40 as in previous years), narrowing the selection further.
