etc.venues the leading provider of non-residential training facilities, backed by Dunedin the UK mid-market private equity house, has won ‘Best Corporate and Environmental Responsibility’ title for London and the Southeast, at the inaugural British Venture Capital Association’s (BVCA) ‘CEO of the Year Awards’ in association with Private Equity News. A panel of private equity industry experts and representatives from the BVCA met in London to assess the achievements of CEOs of private equity and venture capital-backed companies in the Southeast and London.
Nicol Fraser, Director of Dunedin who sits on the board of etc.venues comments: "This is an admirable award to win and a great achievement for etc.venues to be recognised and awarded for its corporate and environmental responsibility policy. etc.venues is a thriving business that takes responsibility for the impact of its activities on the environment, customers, employees, and all the companies in its supply chain. The business ensures that only energy efficient practices are used throughout each venue and it also won the National Recycling Award two years ago."
Alastair Stewart, Managing Director of etc.venues comments “Although this award is given to CEO’s, it is my team of Green Champions who deserve all the credit and I’m delighted for them. We have a long history of pioneering CSR initiatives dating back to when the company started 17 years ago and the enthusiasm burns as strongly as ever.
The green champions in our 7 venues have a ferocious appetite for recycling even down to ensuring our old furniture finds new homes and all our new properties are furnished with sustainable materials. Our support of local suppliers is a big strand of our CSR policy, as is our support of local community causes with our current charity, Magic Breakfast, benefiting hugely from our help and support. Thirty etc.venues’ team members recently ran a 10K run raising £4,000 for them.
